Aether and Ego gives Pride and Prejudice a completely new setting. Instead of living in England, Elizabeth Bennet is part of a community traveling through space on a generation ship.
Elizabeth is interested in engineering and spends much of her time working in the ship’s signal room. She meets Mr. Darcy, but they do not get along at first. As they spend more time together, their relationship slowly begins to change.
Things become more serious when Lydia elopes. Elizabeth wants to protect her family, while Darcy becomes involved in helping her. At the same time, they have to deal with a possible murder.
